Studio Policies

  1. STUDIO OBJECTIVES
    • To cultivate a healthy vocal technique through exercises and various styles of repertoire.
    • To encourage and foster the understanding and appreciation of various musical styles and concepts.
    • To set and achieve goals; varying based on the individual.
    • To encourage professionalism and respect in the studio, in performance, and in other venues involving vocal study, repertoire, and performance.
  2. RATES
    • Information regarding tuition fees can be found HERE.
    • Resonant Voice with Freya Meredith reserves the right to change fees with minimum 1 month’s notice to students.
  3. PAYMENT OF FEES
    • Payment of fees to be confirmed and discussed with the teacher before commencement of lessons.
    • From the beginning of 2021 all lessons will be invoiced and emailed to your nominated email address.
    • Fees must be paid via the Student/Parent Portal or link on the invoice.
    • Payment must be made by the due date on each invoice.
  4. ATTENDANCE/MAKEUPS
    • If a student is a no-show (has missed a lesson without notice) or if a lesson is cancelled by student with less than 24-hours notice, the lesson will be forfeited and the tuition will not be refunded or credited for future lessons (this excludes absences based on severe illness or family emergency).
    • If a student is more than 10 minutes late after their booked start time without notice, the lesson will be considered a no-show and will be forfeited.
    • If a student notifies the teacher via the Student/Parent Portal or email of absence at least 24-hours before, they are eligible for a refund or make-up lesson, based on the teacher’s discretion.
  5. ENDING OF STUDY (BY STUDENT)
    • If, throughout the calendar year a student wishes to end studies, then a minimum 1 month’s notice needs to be given via email to admin@resonantvoiceonline.com.
    • All lessons between notification and ending of study must be attended and paid for.
  6. TERMINATION OF STUDY
    • Resonant Voice with Freya Meredith reserves the right to terminate lessons if it is in the best interest of both the student and the teacher. Issues warranting dismissal include:
      • Repeated failure to attend lessons.
      • Repeated failure to prepare for lessons.
      • Repeated offences of inappropriate and/or disrespectful behaviour.
      • Failure to pay tuition without sufficient notification.
  7. EXPECTATIONS
    • A practice regime outside of the lesson is necessary for growth and improvement. (Aim to practice repertoire and exercises 4 days a week for 20 minutes)
    • Practicing proper vocal health is also expected.
  8. IN-LESSON RECORDING
    • As an additional resource for our students, online voice lessons will be recorded. This is to encourage out of lesson practice and to record progress of the student.
    • These recordings are available to the student and the family for a period of 7 days from the date of recording on each student’s Google Drive. After this time the video will be removed from the student’s Google Drive.
    • All recordings will be securely stored in the Resonant Voice Online studio, and will not be used for any purpose without permission.
